The monograph offered to the reader by Lyubov Voloshyn, a long-time researcher of the work of Oleksa Novakivskyi, an Honored Artist of Ukraine, is dedicated to another bright page in the creative work of this outstanding Ukrainian artist. The author of the work, relying on numerous literary and archival sources, for the first time in domestic literature sheds light on the fundamentally important role of female images in the work of Oleksa Novakivskyi, which were for him a favorite means of poetic allegory and symbolist transformation of reality.
The work publishes for the first time in Ukraine a number of foreign paintings by Oleksa Novakivskyi, as well as his little-known drawings. The book is addressed to art historians, students of higher art educational institutions, culturologists and all art lovers.
