The common themes of the research on which this work is based are the origins of the loss of oneself and the paths of self-knowledge.
The drama of the gifted, that is, the sensitive, awakened child is that he feels the needs of his parents at an early age and adapts to them, learning not to feel his own strongest, “unwanted” feelings. Although later these “unwanted” feelings are not always avoided, they remain separated, and therefore the most important part of the true “I” is not integrated into the personality.
This leads to emotional insecurity and loss of self, which causes depression or is reflected in giftedness.
The examples given illustrate the unspoken suffering of the child, hidden behind idealizations, as well as the tragedy of parents who were once children themselves.
