In August 2016, Francesca Capodiferro, a geologist and fire brigade commander from Rome, is in the Monti della Laga mountains, on the border of three regions - Lazio, Marche and Abruzzo, where she has to carry out a very important task. On the evening of August 24, she and her search dogs stop for the night above Amatrice, but that very night a terrible earthquake wipes out the town and neighboring settlements.
