The book “Studio Glass in Ukraine” is dedicated to the history and formation of the international studio glass movement – a unique phenomenon in the art of the 20th century, which changed the perception of glass as a material.
Author Mykhailo Bokotey will tell about the path from the utilitarian and decorative use of glass to its establishment as a full-fledged visual medium. The book also examines the role of the pioneers of the studio movement – Harvey Littleton, Dominic Labinot, Erwin Aish, Andriy Bokotey, Franz Chernyak, etc. and their followers – in the formation of a new artistic direction.
Special attention is paid to Ukrainian art glass, which is based on ancient traditions of glassmaking and developed in parallel with world trends.
