The Plantain is a collection of information on the sociological revision of Ukrainian culture from 2023 to 2024. The Plantain follows the author's previous book, "The Kharkiv Region Herald" (2022), but with a different geography, themes, and intonation of writing. The changes are due to military service. Therefore, the texts have a place for black humor, satire; mysticism, despair; there is a fairy tale and even a lullaby.
The collection establishes an even greater connection with the sociological intuition of Gabriel Tarde and Bruno Latour and will be interesting to fans of speculative theories in the social sciences, philosophy, and their adherents in architecture, art, and urban studies.
The texts of the collection are accompanied by the artistic signs of Maria Vasylenko. Their dialogue sometimes turns into a dispute, or even a scandal. Therefore, these signs may be inaccurate, false, incomplete, or empty.
