Etienne Séguin is not yet thirty. Originally from Drumonville, he has been living in Montreal for several years. Etienne has just received a position as a literature teacher at the college in his hometown. In any case, he will be driving to and from work on Highway 20, a one-way trip of about an hour, thanks to which he will be able to listen to the radio, and most importantly, he will forget about his recent divorce!
Soon, Etienne notices a hitchhiker, always in the same place and at the same time when he passes by. Why not give him a ride so that the road does not seem so monotonous? The young man immediately realizes that the passenger knew him as a child, but Etienne suffers from amnesia and does not remember his childhood at all. He wonders: who is this passenger whom he has taken to giving rides? And what did they do together in their youth?
"The Passenger" is a novel of incredible tension from the author of "Seven Days of Talion."
