Readers are invited to a reprint of a unique book — a guide to Kyiv in 1930. The leading role in the implementation of the publication was played by its editor — the outstanding Ukrainian art critic and monument conservator Fedir Ernst. The publication includes 340 articles, 243 of which were written (partly in co-authorship) by F. Ernst himself. The remaining articles for the guide were compiled by prominent scholars of the 1920s and 1930s: Vasyl Bazylevich, Petro Kurinny, Vsevolod Zummer, Mykhailo Rudynsky, Oleksa Novytsky, Mykola Makarenko, Yevheniya Spaska, and others. The foreword to the modern edition was written by the famous Ukrainian historian Mr. Serhiy Bilokon.
The publication turns the face of Kyiv, which has not yet suffered architectural losses from the ideological influences of the Soviet totalitarian system.
The publication comes with a map of Kyiv from 1930 (compiled by P. Tymoshok).
