The first Ukrainian translation brings together twelve iconic interviews and conversations with Henri Cartier-Bresson, conducted between 1951 and 1998, when the photographer received the most media attention.
These oral, seminal testimonies convey the spirit of the master of photography and serve as a lasting document of his life and work, which inspired generations of photographers and artists. Most of them have not been reprinted since their publication, and have therefore been difficult to find. They reveal a Cartier-Bresson who fascinates and is fascinated, who talks about photography, comments on the state of the world, and looks back on his life.
These moments of oral speech, which belong to a period lasting almost half a century, also allow us to see the evolution of the photographer's thought: he returns to his formulations, changes his point of view, sometimes contradicts himself. They do not convey a frozen legend, but rather a very lively image of Cartier-Bresson.
The publication is being implemented on the initiative and support of Igor Dvoretsky.
