The album presents for the first time in a multifaceted way folk icons on glass, widespread in the 19th - first third of the 20th centuries. in Western Ukraine. The works are made using a special technique on the back of the glass. They were intended for village homes, but historical circumstances did not contribute to their preservation. Many icons were destroyed, and most of those presented here were saved for future generations by private collectors.
The publication presents Hutsul, Pokuttya, Bukovina works of folk masters, which are contained in museum and private collections of Ukraine and Poland, most of which are reproduced for the first time. In particular, the album includes 17 works from the collection of the National Museum of Folk Art of Hutsul and Pokuttya named after J. Kobrynsky.
