The Ukrainian An-225 is a super-heavy transport aircraft created by the Kiev-based Antonov Aviation Concern. The aircraft made its first flight in 1988. Built in only one copy, it was the largest and most powerful in the world.
In the first days of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which began on February 24, 2022, the Mriya was treacherously destroyed at Gostomel airport as a result of an attack by enemy aircraft during an unsuccessful attempt to capture Kyiv.
