The book by calligrapher and expert on Ukrainian cursive Vitaliy Stepanovych Mitchenko is an attempt to see in historical handwritings works of graphic art that can be adapted to modern aesthetics.
This publication summarizes the experience of fifteen years of teaching a course in type at the Department of the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture. The author offers to immerse yourself in the course of studying the history and theory of Ukrainian handwritten type, which has been developed over many years. A significant contribution to the preparation of the materials was also made by students, whose best works are presented in this publication.
The publication is intended for students and graduates of art universities who work in the field of book design and advertising, graphic designers and everyone who is interested in national culture.
